World’s most popular operating system is geared upto launch its next version of Microsoft Windows 8 on the 26th of October this year. The first announcement of its existence and development was heard way back in January 2011. Since then it has been much awaited as the new version is expected to roll out with touch optimized programs and a new start screen replacing the start menu.

No Worries! It is still compatible with your personal computers, Laptops, Home theater PC’s, Tablets and desktops for office and home environment.

System Requirements
Windows 8 can be accommodated in the same hardware that powered your Windows 7

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit) RAM
  • 16 GB Hard disk availability, (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
  • Use multi touch monitors and tablets to experience touch interface.

Screen resolution of 1024 x 768 and an active internet connection is required to access windows store to download and run apps.

Windows 8 – A game changer

With the release of Windows 8, users would be stepping-in to a whole new age of unified experience. In simple terms, the OS is coming out in three distinct platforms for tablets, PCs, and Smart-phones respectively, which many are not aware of. Interestingly, Windows 8 widely received positive reviews from users during its consumer preview release.
