Mostly, users often find it difficult to manage datas -  either to store or to copy the same between devices!

Sighting huge potential, Sony is now ready to launch pen drives that will go compatible with smartphones and tablets.

These devices are first of its kind and are expected to be welcomed well in the global market by Sony.

The new Flash drives are “2-in-1 devices” with both USB 2.0 and microUSB connectors.

Simply put, an user will be able to use it on their smartphone, tablets, laptops and desktops.

On the design front, the pen drive comes with locking caps that help prevent any accidental damages and dust. They are available in three colours.

According to Sony, the pen drives are made of metal body so that it is durable enough to withstand everyday mobile use.

The flash drives will be compatible with operating system Android – Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean and also offer USB on-the-go (OTG) functionality.

Sony claims, it is working on making the drives compatible with the latest Google Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

Viviano Cantu, director of consumer media marketing, Sony Electronics, said, “These new drives combine convenience, peace of mind and performance and are perfect for mobile multi-tasking.”

The new pen drives are coming in storage versions namely, 8, 16 and 32 GB capacities. They are priced at $19.99, $29.99 and $62.99 roughly Rs 1240, Rs 1863 and Rs 3912 respectively.

The India launch date has not yet been disclosed by Sony sources however, it will go global from the month of January 2014.
