Sony is adding yet another device to its Xperia lineup called the Xperia M. It follows the success model Xperia Z and the recently pronounced Xperia ZR.

The newly announced dual-core Xperia M is a mid-range device that brings with it some of the design similarities from previous Sony Xperia models.

It retains the neat metal finished round power button located to the right of the device. Apart from this, it has the curved rear panel found on handsets like Xperia T.

The latest model Sony Xperia M sports a 4inch display with 854 x 480 pixel widescreen resolution. The handset is 9.3mm thick and weighs 124 gm.

For camera it has a 5MP auto focus on the rear side of the chasis. It has a dual-core Snapdragon processor clocking 1GHz alongside 1GB of RAM.

It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and has 4GB internal storage space. The microSD slot on the device can expand the memory up to 32GB.

The manufacturer is offering white, yellow, black, and purple colour variants  It claims that the battery on the handset can withstand up to 552 hours standby time.

The dual-SIM model of the same device is called the Xperia Mdual. The DLNA, GPS, an FM radio, 3G HSPA+ connectivity, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 are some of the other features incorporated on the phone.

The phone is expected to roll out in the month of September this year however, exact dates and pricing information are unavailable for now.
