Panasonic has silently re-entered the Indian mobile market with an Android based smartphone. Panasonic P51 is the high-end device and, it is offered by the manufacturer for RS. 26,900.

Panasonic is a great name in the electronics world, seems like it wants to try it’s luck in the mobile segment with P51 one more time!

The P51 has a whopping 5-inch IPS panel capacitive touch screen with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. Jaina Marketing will collaborate with Panasonic for marketing, distribution and customer support for the smartphone.

Daizo Ito, President, Panasonic India said, “Panasonic has a great legacy of being the pioneers of innovation in every segment. Continuing our legacy, we are now launching our innovative smartphone which will redefine the Indian smartphone consumer experience.”

The handset screen has the unique Oleophobic coating and dragon trail glass that offers scratch and finger-print resistant.

The device runs on the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean sporting a quad-core processor that clocks 1.2GHz backed by 1GB of RAM.

The phone offers Dual-SIM usage and has 4GB internal storage. The storage is expandable via microSD up-to 32GB.

Like the competing models the device uses a 8MP camera with auto-focus and LED flash and a multi-angle image view feature. Similar to Micromax launched Canvas Doodle A111 the device has  a stylus and stylish flip cover that is magnetic.

It rolls out with preloaded apps namely, Cam Scanner, Cam Card reader and Open Office.  The P51 weighs 135 grams is quite easy to carry around in hand.
