Mar 28, 13 More Exclusive Stores Planned By 2015 For Apple In India

Apple Inc’s larger success in the Indian sub-continent region has finally drawn some attention from the Cupertino manufacturer.

India being one of the hot destination for Apple iPhone and iPad models remained unexplored until now.

With iPhone5 bringing in the numbers for Apple, it is keen on scaling-up the India operations. The move will see Apple tripling its exclusive stores by 2015.

According to ET, the franchisee companies of Apple shared the good news and also informed that they have been requested by Apple to scale-up the India operations. No doubts, Apple is determined to grow on faster pace in the sub-continent.

Currently, 17 franchisees own and run Apple’s exclusive stores known as Apple Premium Reseller, the coming days will witness Apple’s presence in numerous multi-brand stores as well. Much of these plans were discussed by Apple’s vice president (sales) for Europe, Middle-East, India, and Africa – Hugeues Asseman during his Mumbai visit.

Apple had recently kicked off a massive advertising campaign by offering Apple iPhones and iPads on EMI – easy monthly instalment scheme in India. This puts Apple head on head against its Korean rival Samsung which had already made some inner roads for itself in the USA market.

At present, The Mobile Store and Croma are couple of the multi brand outlets that support Apple sales in India. Apart from this, 65 exclusive Apple stores owned and managed by franchisees also contribute to the sales.

There is no information about Apple plans to open company-owned stores in India. But Apple has given instructions to its franchisees to develop and maintain the exclusive stores as per global specifications and standards.

No questions, India is a potential market for Apple products, with this new move from Apple, we only expect to see the latest products hitting the local retail shelves as soon as they get released in the western market!
