Since the launch, the LG Optimus G has sold over 0.5 million units in the Asian market and it was also launched in the Europe. The handset hit the US shores on 1st of May of this year following its wide spread success in other regions.

With this, LG plans to take on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 along with LG Optimus G Pro. To support its plan, LG had packed its device with whopping 5.5” full HD IPS Plus capacitive touch screen display at a resolution power of 1920 × 1080 pixels.

It is also using a solid quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 CPU Adreno 320 GPU paired with 2GB of RAM. The device runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS and will likely get the Android Key Lime Pie when it rolls out in the near future.

One of the amazing feature on the phone is its 32GB on-board storage capacity with further expansion support via microSD card slot. The phone outshines on the camera front with its 13MP rear auto-focus camera – LED flash, capable of recording video at 1080p.

It has a decent 2.1MP front camera too. Similar to the rear camera the front is also capable of shooting pictures at 1080P. The smartphone has a 3140mAh battery that well supports all the robust actions on the device.

All across the globe, handsets sporting large screens are well received with their demands increasing day after day. The reason behind this should attribute for watching full HD videos, browsing, playing games, opening PDF and etc.

Interestingly, bigger screens were only sort in the Asian markets until now but it seems like the western world is also getting ready to embrace the growing trend!
