Taiwanese smartphone maker has added one more device in its Desire line dubbed as Desire 500. The mid range phone HTC Desire 500 is launched  in India for Rs. 21,490 and comes quad-core powered, HTC Blinkfeed and Video Highlights.

The phone will race with other lead models in the market namely Sony Xperia C, Nokia Lumia 625 and Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus.

The phone sports 1.2 GHz quad-core processor paired to 1GB of RAM. It has a 4.3inch display with decent resolution power to support better video quality.

The HTC image chip processor is dedicated for the 8MP camera fitted on the rear. The front adorns 1.6MP camera.

The phone has 4GB onboard memory and support for microSD card of up to 64GB. This simply interprets that an user can store numerous data at ease.

The video highlight feature enables a user to take stills and videos from one event or days’ shooting and compiles them into a 30-second reel, set to music according to one of five themes.

The device is likely to have dual SIM support and NFC in select markets.

The HTC Desire 500 is loaded with removable rechargeable Li-polymer battery with 1800 mAh capacity. It offers talk time up to 12.1 hours and standby time up to 435 hours on 3G network.

HTC India Head Faisal Siddiqui had said, “The Desire range has become renowned for bringing a premium mobile experience to the mass market. This particular model enables powerful multitasking and boasts of an excellent camera,”
