Jan 22, 13 Google Nexus 4 Launch in India Gets Delayed Further…

Google’s successful model ‘Nexus 4‘ that was due to launch in the Indian market by November 2012 – last year, was reassigned for a later date in January 2013. With just nine days remaining for the first month to get over, there are no signs of the phone launching!

According to sources, Google Nexus 4 launch in India is delayed further without any updates. The explanations point out to the escalated tensions between LG and Google over the pricing and other factors.

Currently, the Nexus 4 – 8GB and 16GB is sold for $299 and $349 in the USA market. A rough conversion of the same into Indian Rupee would work to RS. 16,000 and RS. 18,700 respectively.

The Google Nexus 7 is already selling out at RS. 18,000 and RS. 20,500 for 16GB and 32GB respectively in India. A close look at the pricing would indicate a slightly higher price than the US. Similarly, LG is looking forward for a favorable pricing before rolling out the Nexus 4 in Indian market.

Another valid reason contributed towards the delay is the less supply of handsets from LG. The short of supply is widely felt in markets around Europe, USA and UK. The blame is on LG as it is manufacturing the devices.

Managing Director, Dan Cobley in his apology on Google Plus Profile stated “ Supplies from the manufacturer are scarce and erratic, and our communication has been flawed. I can offer an unreserved apology for our service and communication failures in this process,”.

Ending the score; LG throws it back at Google, saying the demand was underestimated and miscalculated by Google eventually leading to, short-of-supply chaos. Infact, the Indian launch getting delayed than expected, for peole who want to opt for other models can buy Google Nexus 7 if they still intend in buying a Google product.
