BlackBerry 9720 that launched overseas recently with OS 7.1 has now been launched in India at Rs 15,990. The smartphone is expected to start selling from today ‘September 14th’.

The new smartphone comes with  BlackBerry’s famous QWERTY keyboard and sports a decent 2.8-inch touchscreen TFT LCD display.

The overall body design appears similar to that of BlackBerry’s Curve model and is thick at 12mm weighing 120 grams.

Powering the device is a 806MHz Tavor MG1 processor paired to 512MB of RAM. The mid range phone has a 5MP camera in the rear alongside a LED Flash, it also has a 4X digital zoom.

The phone is launched with BlackBerry’s own  OS 7.1 which is considered a better catch.

It comes with 512MB of on-board storage which is further expandable upto 32GB via the microSD card slot.

The device has 1,450mAh battery which is sufficient to offer 7 hours of talk time and 432 hours of standby time.

Connectivity features on BlackBerry 9720  include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ aGPS and 3G. The phone is expected to come out in Black, Blue, Pink, Purple and White colour variants.
