The Iconia A1 is a 7.9inch slate device from Acer that is capable of taking on the Apple iPad mini in the global market. The new tablet is expected to be priced lot lesser than the other trending ones.

The Operating System on the new model is Android Jelly Bean version 4.2 that well matches against the Apple iOS found on Apple iPad mini. The display is of 7.9-inch capacitive IPS touch panel that offers HD visual at 1024 х 768 pixel resolution power.

The device weighs approximately 460gm offering a comfortable hold for long durations. It measures 11 millimeters in thickness.

The A1 is fitted with 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor (MediaTek MT8125 Cortex A9 chipset) paired to 1GB of RAM. For graphics it uses a PowerVR SGX GPU that is capable of rendering high end results.

The Acer Iconia A1 rolls out in two variants namely 8GB and 16GB. If the storage facility on the device is insufficient then the user can choose to expand through microSD card slot up-to 32GB.

The device has a video recording 5MP auto focus camera and a VGA camera. Apart from this, other features that come packed in the device are accelerometer, gyroscope and GPS tracker for navigation purpose.

For connectivity, it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB 2.0 port and a 3.5mm audio jack. And for power it has 3250mAh battery. The Acer Iconia A1 is expected to hit the shelves with an approximate price tag of RS. 12,000.
